Wensum Valley in Norwich was where the first Euro Pro Tour event of the season took place and unfortunately the weather got the better of the course. I teed off at 8.45 in the morning in the first round with the weather being ok. Apart from my b0gey at the opening hole I played very well birdieing the 3rd and 7th and be 1 under at the turn. The rain then came down hard and by the 14th play had … [Read more...]

Preparing for the season ahead

shaun_30_300_sq

I am now well into my preparation for the upcoming season. In January I was over in America visiting a friend and did a bit of practice with him. Since being back I have been working very hard on a couple of technical things in my swing to improve my game even more this season and hopefully by mid April I will have them sinked in and be ready to go. The weather has been holding up well so I … [Read more...]

Euro Pro Tour Championship

shaun_22_300_sq

For the last Euro Pro Tour event of the season for the top 60 in the order of merit it was off to Mar Menor golf resort in Murcia, Spain. After playing a season in some mixed weather it was nice to get across and enjoy some golf in good weather, and we were not let down with temperatures up to 30 degrees with sun and no wind. This week there was no excusses! After playing the two practice … [Read more...]

First Stage of European Tour School

shaun_38_300_sq

Fortunately for me one  of the courses for the first stage of tour school is Dundonald Link which is a course I know well. It is also only an hour and a half from home which makes it feel that bit easier too. I qualified last year at Dundonald so even though I hadnt played competitively in a few week I felt confident going into the event and felt I had practiced well the weeks building up to it. … [Read more...]

Lingfield park

shaun_40_300_sq

Lingfield Park was one of few courses that hadnt been on the Euro Pro schedule before so it was the first time I had been there. The practice round went well and had my strategy worked out for each hole. It wasnt the longest of courses but was tight off the tee and the greens were very small. The first round didnt go to plan with a 5 over par round with bogeys at the 9th, 10th, 12th,17th and … [Read more...]

Formby Hall

shaun_26_300_sq

After a good event at the Players club it was down to Formby Hall for the 3rd tournament in a row and my confidence was growing after some good results. I was feeling comfortable going into the first round and opened with a 1 under par round of 71 with three birdies and 2 bogeys. I was happy with the way I hit the ball but felt I possibly could of capitalised on a few more chances and maybe … [Read more...]

The players golf club, Bristol

shaun_2_300_sq

It was off to my second event in a row out of four and it was a course that again I had played before but found difficult and definately wasnt my favourite course on the schedule. I think it was because of the weather last year being so bad, but when we arrived and played the practice round the course was in great condition and it didnt seem as tough as I remembered. Going into round 1 I was … [Read more...]

Wychwood Park

shaun_30_300_sq

After a good weeks practice at home it was time to hit the road again for one of my shorter drives down to crewe. Its a course I have played the past two years and both times missing the cut by 1 shot so I was hoping to improve on that dramatically. I got off to a mixed start in the front 9 with three birdies and two bogeys which saw me out in one under par. To me the front 9 is a little easier … [Read more...]

2nd tournament in Ireland and best professional finish

shaun_12_300_sq

I turned up at the next tournament in Ireland at Fota Island golf club with a lot of confidence and felt a lot more experienced from the last event. I was lucky enough to get into the pro am on the Tuesday and shot a level par round finishing tied 6th out of the pros and gained some important course knowledge from the amateurs I played with regarding lines and clubs off tees. I thought to myself … [Read more...]
